Fulfilling Christmas?

Today is December 25th, the long-awaited Christmas day. A day where everyone rejoices and celebrate in unison. There had not been any day like this where the whole world, whether Greek or Jew, white or black, Muslim or Christian, celebrate in unity. Indeed, this must be a special day.

The world as we know enjoy celebration even in the midst of suffering, greed, poverty, lack and high political and economic tension. On a day like this virtually everyone pretends all is well just to have a full grasp of the day.
Yes. All is well but is all really well?
On a day like this, I spend more time resonating about the 358days which has gone by. I realised that I have lost many friends, made new friends, attended funerals, attended naming ceremonies. I have seen terrible accidents and I have even been involved in some. But yet I am standing. Oh, I didn’t die? Yea. But why didn’t I die? Am I better than those who died or lost one part of their body? The answer is No!

Life is all about purpose. The reason for Christmas is because a Man named Jesus came to earth to fulfil the purpose of salvation and he fulfilled it perfectly. So we are celebrating Him years after years. I define Christmas as a celebration of a fulfilled purpose! May I ask this question? If you were to die today, would people celebrate you for fulfilling purpose? Would people say you lived a fulfilled life? Are you just busy waking up in the morning rushing to the office as early as 5am and getting home as late as 9pm? Or are you busy getting certifications for your selfish consumption?
Life is all about fulfilling purpose. I define Purpose as a thread that links human destinies together. When you do your part well, it makes the other person’s destiny become stable and well inclined. Over time, I have realised that we are all interconnected. This has made me watch every word I say, every action I take, and every move I make. You think, you are an island? Not at all. We all need each other. A failure in fulfilling one’s purpose is a disadvantage to the next person. Just like a parent’s failure in raising up a kid well is a bane to the society and to the world at large so also is your lackadaisical attitude to humanity when you do not fulfill destiny.

Christmas is a day when we all must ruminate about our purpose. Praise God I know mine. Do you know yours? Discover it today. The world must celebrate you. Albert Einstein found his, Steven Hawkings also, Pastor E. A Adeboye as well, just to mention a few: these are men whose death have and will touch the world!

Discovering purpose involves you going back to your maker. Repent of your sins, reconcile yourself to God. It is only the manufacturer that knows the full capacity of his machine! Stop living a low version of the real you. Wake, talk to your maker He is willing and ready to hear you. Talk to him this Christmas.

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not- Jeremiah 33:3

Valentine or Violent-Time (Part 3)

Over the years, some religious folks have defined and classified February 14 as the devil's day. They argue that the Valentine was not a Saint, and even if he was, it was not proper to keep a day to remember him. By God's grace, I have subjected myself to regular study of the scriptures and godly books in several libraries especially the e-libraries. My philosophy has been guided by the knowledge acquired from comparative and HOLYGHOST inspired study. If God is not against Christmas, and Easter, then why should He be against Valentine's Day? Many of us have known so much that we have created our own "Newer Testament" after the new testament of the Holy Bible. Is God against celebrations? Definitely, No! Jesus visited a wedding in Cana, he was at most Jewish feasts, and He organized a feast by feeding, on one occasion, 5,000 men. Our God loves feasting. He loves to see us celebrate. But all feastings must be done in Holiness in order to be approved ...

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL-BELATED OFFERING - 08/03/2013

Yesterday’s message was titled “ ARE YOU A FALSE WITNESS  ”. Today’s message is titled  “BELATED OFFERING?”  as provided by Pastor E. A. Adeboye in Open Heavens Devotional (Adeboye, 2014). In today’s message, we have been asked to memorise  Genesis 27:20: "And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me. " . Today's reading is from  Mark 16:1-6  and the Bible in one year reading for today has been taken from  Jeremiah 36:1:- Jeremiah 38:6 and Psalm 55:16-23 Quoted below is the message for today. God bless you richly for your contribution When Isaac asked Esau his son to go and prepare a delicious meal of venison for him to eat so that he (Isaac) may bless him, Isaac's wife Rebekah heard it and took advantage of the distance between their tents and the field where Esau the hunter would get the bush meat. She also took advantage of the short distanc...

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL-LOVE & SPIRITUAL GIFTS [Friday May 23, 2014]

LOVE & SPIRITUAL GIFTS [Friday May 23, 2014] Memorise: Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.   1 Corinthians 14:1 Bible in a Year: Genesis 48-50; Psalm 108 Read:   1 Corinthians 12:1-2 1  Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 2  Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. Message: Our God is the Almighty. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He is also good and His mercy endures forever. One character of God that is transmissible through us is love. How do we show that we know God? It is by showing His love ( 1 John 4:8 ). Let us love one another. Let’s demonstrate the love of God to our brethren. Let’s show them that we care. The people we are to show love to includes those that are lovable and those that do not deserve our love. Do you love your critics? Do you love your persecutors? Do you love the un...
