Valentine or Violent-Time (Part 3)

Over the years, some religious folks have defined and classified February 14 as the devil's day. They argue that the Valentine was not a Saint, and even if he was, it was not proper to keep a day to remember him.

By God's grace, I have subjected myself to regular study of the scriptures and godly books in several libraries especially the e-libraries. My philosophy has been guided by the knowledge acquired from comparative and HOLYGHOST inspired study.

If God is not against Christmas, and Easter, then why should He be against Valentine's Day? Many of us have known so much that we have created our own "Newer Testament" after the new testament of the Holy Bible.

Is God against celebrations? Definitely, No! Jesus visited a wedding in Cana, he was at most Jewish feasts, and He organized a feast by feeding, on one occasion, 5,000 men. Our God loves feasting. He loves to see us celebrate. But all feastings must be done in Holiness in order to be approved by God (Lev. 23:2,4,44, Isa 25:6). The book of Revelation 19:9 tells us that there would be a marriage feasting in Heaven with all the saints (bride)

Valentine day, like every other remarkable day, is a day set aside to show love. It is a day that reminds us what true love should be. Conversely, the definition of love has been twisted to suit people's greed and selfishness. So, instead of Valentine, we are celebrating Violent-time.

In the real Christian sense, no special day is needed to remind us of LOVE. The Christian faith buttress on Love and nothing else. Jesus was sent into the world to redeem us from death because of Love. God made man because of love. God is God because of love. Nothing exists and nothing will without God's love. God is Love personified (1John 4:8). So if Valentine day is a day set aside to remind us of love(God), we ought to celebrate love(God) in Holiness.
So now, if I may ask, are you celebrating Valentine or Violent-time?

What is Violent-time about?
Like I have written in my previous articles (both in 2016, and 2017), Violent-time is the opposite of Valentine. The world has turned a very good day to a day full of atrocities and ungodliness. Valentine has been christened as, “Violent-time” through people’s actions. Ironically, they jump around claiming to celebrate valentine.

February 14, has become a day where hotels become overbooked and many guest house tend to have a higher turnover because of the flood of youth patronizing their services. Many young girls who have been preserving their dignity (virginity) will lose it today. Many others will become pregnant and lose their stand in life. While few unlucky others will become damned from the shackles of abortion either through death or from destruction of their womb. Life will become violent to these folks all because of Valentine, I mean Violent-time.

Violent-time is also the day when destinies will be stolen by the devil: forbidden apples will become attractive and so enticing that women will eat and hand it over to their men. The married folks are not left out, as wives will pressurize husbands for gifts and an outing even though their present condition does not support that. The irresponsible husbands will be out there with strange women at different joints spending money that they have never given to their wives. Indeed, violent-time seems to take over Valentine.

Painfully, some folks will contract Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs). Those who escape STDs will contract spirit husbands, spirit wives, and other demons that can cause failure and backwardness in life.

Celebrating Valentine is easier than Violent-time. Which do you prefer?

Valentine, on the other hand, is the day for us to be conscious of God’s loving-nature as our Father. It is a day we should ask God to rekindle His love in our hearts so that we can love in God’s kind (agape love). From first Corinthians 13, let me summarize what a true valentine love should possess:

Verse 1:           Love is not about too much speech. It is about deeds.
Verse 2:           Love is higher that prophecy, mysteries, knowledge and faith
Verse 3:           Love is higher than giving and sacrifice
Verse 4:           Love is kind, humble, and patient
Verse 5:           Love acts without evil, selfless and straight forward
Verse 6:           Love hates sin and is full of truth
Verse 7:           Love bears, hopes, endures and believes
Verse 8:           Love never fails even when other fails

If your valentine love does not contain these, then you might have celebrated Violent-time! Praise God for His redemption grace, you can be better. You can retrace your steps. You can be forgiven!
Next time, celebrate Valentine and not Violent-time.

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL-BELATED OFFERING - 08/03/2013

Yesterday’s message was titled “ ARE YOU A FALSE WITNESS  ”. Today’s message is titled  “BELATED OFFERING?”  as provided by Pastor E. A. Adeboye in Open Heavens Devotional (Adeboye, 2014). In today’s message, we have been asked to memorise  Genesis 27:20: "And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? God bless you richly for your contribution When Isaac asked Esau his son to go and prepare a delicious meal of venison for him to eat so that he (Isaac) may bless him, Isaac's wife Rebekah heard it and took advantage of the distance between their tents and the field where Esau the hunter would get the bush meat. OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL - CARE FOR THE BRETHREN-30/04/2014

" CARE FOR THE BRETHREN " In today’s message, we have been asked to memorise   Philippians 4:19 : " But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus ” Today's reading was taken from  Romans 15:25-27  and the Bible reading in one year is   Revelation 8 to Revelation 11 and Psalm 93 (Adeboye, 2014). Quoted below is today's message for your input "Apostle Paul in the Bible reading for today, teaches us one missing ingredient of true discipleship in today’s contemporary Church; which is the ministry of care. Despite the great anointing with which Apostle Paul was ministering to both Jews and Gentiles, it is amazing to read that the ministry of care was not absent from his vocation as a preacher of the gospel. It is also interesting to note that the lives of the early apostles of Jesus Christ were not only in alignment with the teachings of Jesus Christ but were also in alignment with their own teachi...
