OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL 17TH FEBRUARY, 2014

DIVINE CHAMPION II- 17/02/2014

Yesterday’s message was titled “DIVINE CHAMPION I”. Today’s message is titled“DIVINE CHAMPION II” as given by Pastor E. A. Adeboye in Open Heavens Devotional (Adeboye, 2014). In today’s message, we have been asked to memorise lsaiah 40:31  “
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they
shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be
weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” and read

Isaiah 40:28-31

.  The Bible in one year reading for today has been taken from

Isaiah 49 to 51 and

Psalm 40:1 -10
 (Adeboye, 2014).

Quoted below is the message. God bless you richly as you contribute to today's discussion

"Yesterday we discovered that our Lord Jesus Christ is the number one champion and that He makes His people champions. We saw also that a divine champion is a person raised up and supported by God.  One attribute of a champion is strength. The divine  champion is one who receives divine strengthening. 1  Samuel 2:9 says by strength (i.e. human ability) shall no  man prevail. The required divine strength for success,  achievement, getting to the top etc is supplied to the  divine champion by God. Hannah, who by inspiration of  the Holy Spirit proclaimed those words in prayers, had  that experience. She became a champion by divine  strengthening. She received strength to put an end to her  barrenness, thus her shame and reproach were taken  away. Every barren child of God using this devotional 1* right now, today marks that turning point in the story of your life; the strength for conception comes into you . right now in Jesus‘ Name. Having delivered our first  three children by caesarean section, by this same divine  strengthening, my wife safely delivered our fourth child  by herself contrary to the expert's opinion. The Lord who  did it for us will do it for you.

By the time divine strength came upon Elijah the divine champion, He ran on foot ahead of the king's chariot to the city of Jezreel (1 Kings18:46). Thus, the divine champion is always physically strong in his body - no  room for sickness at all. Though it was by divine ability that David tore both the lion and the bear while shepherding his father's flock, he would not have been a sickly fellow to be in the wilderness looking after the  animals. Likewise, though God was the one behind his  killing of the giant Goliath with a catapult, he would no  doubt have been healthy in his body to be strong enough  to pull the catapult string. Jesus our Master is the number  one divine champion; we can only be divine champions  because He is. There is no one occasion recorded where  he was having a simple headache. Therefore, we His  Champions have no business being sick. Rather, what  Jesus was doing is what we are meant to be doing also, i.e. giving health to the sick (Acts 1 0:38)."

Today's prayer point is: "Father, make me a divine champion full of the anointing, and give me a strong sickness-free body for your service".

As we pray this prayer point with the whole of our hearts today, I pray that the Almighty God will give us overflow of anointing that will perfect all that concern us in Jesus name, amen.

Valentine or Violent-Time (Part 3)

Over the years, some religious folks have defined and classified February 14 as the devil's day. They argue that the Valentine was not a Saint, and even if he was, it was not proper to keep a day to remember him. By God's grace, I have subjected myself to regular study of the scriptures and godly books in several libraries especially the e-libraries. My philosophy has been guided by the knowledge acquired from comparative and HOLYGHOST inspired study. If God is not against Christmas, and Easter, then why should He be against Valentine's Day? Many of us have known so much that we have created our own "Newer Testament" after the new testament of the Holy Bible. Is God against celebrations? Definitely, No! Jesus visited a wedding in Cana, he was at most Jewish feasts, and He organized a feast by feeding, on one occasion, 5,000 men. Our God loves feasting. He loves to see us celebrate. But all feastings must be done in Holiness in order to be approved ...

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL-BELATED OFFERING - 08/03/2013

Yesterday’s message was titled “ ARE YOU A FALSE WITNESS  ”. Today’s message is titled  “BELATED OFFERING?”  as provided by Pastor E. A. Adeboye in Open Heavens Devotional (Adeboye, 2014). In today’s message, we have been asked to memorise  Genesis 27:20: "And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me. " . Today's reading is from  Mark 16:1-6  and the Bible in one year reading for today has been taken from  Jeremiah 36:1:- Jeremiah 38:6 and Psalm 55:16-23 Quoted below is the message for today. God bless you richly for your contribution When Isaac asked Esau his son to go and prepare a delicious meal of venison for him to eat so that he (Isaac) may bless him, Isaac's wife Rebekah heard it and took advantage of the distance between their tents and the field where Esau the hunter would get the bush meat. She also took advantage of the short distanc...

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL-LOVE & SPIRITUAL GIFTS [Friday May 23, 2014]

LOVE & SPIRITUAL GIFTS [Friday May 23, 2014] Memorise: Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.   1 Corinthians 14:1 Bible in a Year: Genesis 48-50; Psalm 108 Read:   1 Corinthians 12:1-2 1  Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 2  Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. Message: Our God is the Almighty. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He is also good and His mercy endures forever. One character of God that is transmissible through us is love. How do we show that we know God? It is by showing His love ( 1 John 4:8 ). Let us love one another. Let’s demonstrate the love of God to our brethren. Let’s show them that we care. The people we are to show love to includes those that are lovable and those that do not deserve our love. Do you love your critics? Do you love your persecutors? Do you love the un...
