Nothing sweeter than changing people's lives positively. One day, you will be a memory. So try to be a good one

Many of us have lost loved ones. We have lost friends. Sadly, our family will loose us one day. This is the irony of life. However, the way we live our lives today will neither increase nor decrease our life span (very godly people still die early, and sinful ones even live longer, right?), but, what is more lasting in the hearts of people is the Way we made them feel while we were with them.
The value of life is not in the length lived (whether 80 or 95yrs) but the value of life lies in the quality of life lived. (whether 25 or 40)

Jesus lived only 33.5yrs,yet His impact is still felt 2000years after. We know of several old men in our villages that even the state couldn't identify with them.

2017 made me understand that what makes life beautiful is when you live for others. By this, I mean, influencing people positively. I mean dropping in people's heart, a good memory that can never be forgotten.

Have you wondered why even the next generation will still hear of Martin Luther King and his son (jnr), Nelson Mandela, Adolf Hitler, Osama Bin Laden, Abraham Lincoln, Bill Gates etc.

These are men who despite all odds determined to influence people's lives either Positively or negatively.
Nevertheless, Nothing sweeter than changing people's lives positively.

If I may ask, how many lives have you touched this 2017? How many people have knelt down to appreciate you? How many people have shed tears in order to tell you how much they appreciate your kindness?
If you have have lived 25 years on earth and you haven't touched 25 lives positively, I think you're selfish. My dear, you don't need riches to touch people's life. You need a kind heart. A good heart. A selfless heart.
If you enter 2018 without learning this, it will be painful for the humanity who depend on your kindness.
Now, let's be more practical.

IN your church or mosque, how many people will speak great of you when you die? How many lives have to helped?

IN your office, how many people have you given a helping hand? Or have you back bitten your colleagues just to get favor? Remember, nothing sweeter than changing people's lives positively.

IN your school, how many people can say, "I passed this course because of this guy or girl"?
In your family, can your siblings classify you as the best ever? The one they could talk to at the worst moment? Or they try to avoid you as much as they can.

Remember, we have a few years to live on earth, ensure that you have touched positively atleast the number of your age. I.e 30yrs=>30 people, 55yrs=>55people.

Give people reasons to be happy. Be the God that they see physically. Be there for them. Do good without expecting a return.

Once again, remember, nothing sweeter than changing people's lives positively.
As I round up today's lesson, let us take a brief look at people who touch the world positively:

Martin Luther King, Jr. Fought for black equality with the whites

Nelson Mandela: Ended Apartheid in South Africa

Albert Einstein: greatest scientist in Physics (made Atomic bomb)

William Shakespeare: added over 1700 words to the English dictionary

Christopher Columbus: discovered America

These men never pursued money. They wanted to sincerely add value to mankind and they got both value and money.

I will end with this: Try to mentor someone this 2018, influence them positively, pursue value. And you will leave a lasting effect on mankind.

As you get set for 2018: Influence People's lives. Be a good memory.

God bless you all.

Let Thy Pain Drive Thee

N ecessity, they say, is the mother of invention. Something becomes a necessity when its presence is required; its absence might also cause a little amount of pain. So, when people begin to find alternatives to reducing these pain, invention sprung up. So, I say, “let thy pain direct thee”. Life has never been a bed of roses and it will never be as long as humanity exist. Therefore, we all should expect pain in different levels. Sometimes the pain might be more. Other times, it might be less. But the fact remains that we will all experience pain in different aspect of our lives. But more importantly is the ability to learn from every pain we suffer or endure. Over the years, I realized that every good thing is wrapped in the arms of pain. Therefore, to claim a good thing, one has to overpower pain to achieve this goodness. Globally, economic and financial reports over decades have shown that inflation, depreciation and losses are consistent with human lives. In fact, the so c...

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL- WHY THE WORLD RACES-04/04/2014

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL- WHY THE WORLD RACES-04/04/2014 Yesterday’s message was titled “ DESIRING LONGEVITY & PROSPERITY?  ”. Today’s message is titled “ WHY THE WORLD RACES ” as provided by Pastor E. A. Adeboye in Open Heavens Devotional (Adeboye, 2014). In today’s message, we have been asked to memorise   Luke 21:17:   " And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake."   and read   Luke 6:22-23 . The Bible in one year for today has been taken from   Ezekiel 42:1 to Ezekiel44:14 and Psalm 76 .(Adeboye, 2014). Quoted below is today’s message for our usual discussion "The Psalmist in Psalm 69:8 wrote:  ”I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children.” Why this sorry situation? He gives the reason in Psalm 69:9:  "For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.” This is equally the lamentation of those who would liv...
