Cry aloud for help

And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭14:29-31‬ ‭KJV

I want to share a very brief word for someone today. The Bible text above illustrates what we face in our lives on earth as Christians

First, we start up our Christian journey with the word of God that he has forgiven us, all things works together for good, we are the apple of God's eyes, no weapon fashioned against us shall prosper...the lines are fallen for us in pleasant places.. And some other scriptural promises...

Then suddenly.... The wind of life blows us off our feet. We quickly forget God's word and fear takes over. We lost the faith we once had in His word and begin to struggle to keep up with our strength and wisdom. Even with this we notice we are still sinking. Life doesn't seem to work out. Life become terribly full of struggles and labour. No more grace that cancels labour.

What should we do?

Like Peter, we ought to cry out , Lord, save me! Silence will only keep you down. At this point, we must become nothing for God to help us. We must let go our pride and certifications. We must dismantle from our high estate. We must come low to receive grace. Only the lowly can be exalted. The proud and haughty will be brought down. We must cry out with a loud voice to make it clear that we are helpless and need help.

We must forget about that brother, sister, friend, father or mother that looks like an alternative. We must fully trust in the saving power of God's word. Only then will he stretch forth his saving hands and deliver us.

Finally, we must be open to receive his hands of mercy. If you draw near to God, he will draw near to you. We must willingly accept his words and precepts

We must draw near to his mercy so he can reach us. His hands are willing to reach us if we are ready to hold on to his hands. It's time to cry, LORD SAVE ME.

I believe this has blessed someone today, no matter what you are going through, remember Peter in the sea while drowning, he screamed in total dependance on Jesus saying Lord, save me. Would you cry to Jesus today?

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL-BELATED OFFERING - 08/03/2013

Yesterday’s message was titled “ ARE YOU A FALSE WITNESS  ”. Today’s message is titled  “BELATED OFFERING?”  as provided by Pastor E. A. Adeboye in Open Heavens Devotional (Adeboye, 2014). In today’s message, we have been asked to memorise  Genesis 27:20: "And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me. " . Today's reading is from  Mark 16:1-6  and the Bible in one year reading for today has been taken from  Jeremiah 36:1:- Jeremiah 38:6 and Psalm 55:16-23 Quoted below is the message for today. God bless you richly for your contribution When Isaac asked Esau his son to go and prepare a delicious meal of venison for him to eat so that he (Isaac) may bless him, Isaac's wife Rebekah heard it and took advantage of the distance between their tents and the field where Esau the hunter would get the bush meat. She also took advantage of the short distanc...
