CELEBRATING THE TRUE CHRISTMAS

What do you think would happen if you dashed into at the birthday party of a very affluent and influential fellow uninvited? Or would you go to any party without knowing the reason for the party?
Would you celebrate with your neighbour without asking why? The answer to these questions is NO!
But so many of us celebrate Christmas without knowing why. We dash into Christmas without accepting the invitation.
Do you know where the term Christmas was derived from? CHRISTMAS- CHRIST’S MASS- CELEBRATION OF CHRIST JESUS.
So when you celebrate Christmas, you celebrate Jesus. But how do you celebrate the one who you do not know?
Many people often jump happily at the mention of Christmas. They are glad they saw the end of the year and are able to join others celebrate the season.
But celebrating the true Christmas is to know Jesus who is the reason for the season!
DO YOU KNOW JESUS? DO YOU HAVE HIM IN YOUR LIFE? DO YOU LIVE FOR JESUS?
Do not make this Christmas as the previous ones, celebrate the true Christmas by knowing who you are celebrating, you need to have a knowledge of Jesus, you need him in your life daily. You need to follow him.

WHO IS JESUS?
Jesus is Christ the only begotten son of the living God sent to mankind to deliver us from eternal death and to give us abundant life (John 3:16-18). He is the mediator (Heb 12:24), the one whose name is above all other names even in heaven and on earth (Phil 2:9). Jesus was born of a virgin and crucified to reconcile mankind to God. He is part of the God head- the trinity.
Some people spend all their savings from January to December just to celebrate who they know nothing about, to satisfy their selfish desires and even commit more atrocities, forgetting that it was just only by God’s grace, we are still alive.
Some give God one small fowl and a crate of eggs as thanksgiving while they spend thousands in bars drinking, beaches, eating and catching worldly pleasures.
When would you know Jesus? Is it now that you are still alive or when you die? It is a choice.
Jesus loves you, He is waiting for you to know him better every day (Rev 3:20), to serve and worship Him.
If you are already a Christian, have you had an encounter with Christ? Is your life worthy of emulation? Are your ways Christ-like?

KNOWING JESUS
How can you worship whom you do not know? It is not by mere calling on Jesus’ name daily that makes you to know him but having the true knowledge of Jesus is only through a thorough regular study of God’s word. This is the only true insight to his Person.
Building a personal and intimate relationship with Jesus is having Jesus in the boat of your life. Letting Jesus take the wheel of your life and acknowledging Him in all you do. Proverbs 3:6.Think about your entire life for a moment and answer this question.
Am i willing to celebrate Jesus this Christmas?
The true Christmas is one in which you help the fatherless, the widows, show impartial love to everyone and preach the gospel. Jesus never had time to organise feasts, though he graced them but he had more time to feed his sheep and to attend to the needy. Hebrews 13:16- this is what true Christmas is. Attending to the needs of the less-privileged around you, loving without looking for a gain or favour.
James: 1:27: Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep one’s self unspotted from the world.

Please say this prayer with your mouth:
Lord Jesus, I thank you for the grace to read this tract, I thank you for dying for me, I thank you for loving me. Lord Jesus come into my life and be my Lord and saviour, help me to know you better every day, in Jesus’ name, Amen!

Make a decision today to know Jesus more deeply on a daily basis, tell him you are willing to celebrate the true Christmas this year.

God bless you.

Let Thy Pain Drive Thee

N ecessity, they say, is the mother of invention. Something becomes a necessity when its presence is required; its absence might also cause a little amount of pain. So, when people begin to find alternatives to reducing these pain, invention sprung up. So, I say, “let thy pain direct thee”. Life has never been a bed of roses and it will never be as long as humanity exist. Therefore, we all should expect pain in different levels. Sometimes the pain might be more. Other times, it might be less. But the fact remains that we will all experience pain in different aspect of our lives. But more importantly is the ability to learn from every pain we suffer or endure. Over the years, I realized that every good thing is wrapped in the arms of pain. Therefore, to claim a good thing, one has to overpower pain to achieve this goodness. Globally, economic and financial reports over decades have shown that inflation, depreciation and losses are consistent with human lives. In fact, the so c...

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL - CARE FOR THE BRETHREN-30/04/2014

" CARE FOR THE BRETHREN " In today’s message, we have been asked to memorise   Philippians 4:19 : " But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus ” Today's reading was taken from  Romans 15:25-27  and the Bible reading in one year is   Revelation 8 to Revelation 11 and Psalm 93 (Adeboye, 2014). Quoted below is today's message for your input "Apostle Paul in the Bible reading for today, teaches us one missing ingredient of true discipleship in today’s contemporary Church; which is the ministry of care. Despite the great anointing with which Apostle Paul was ministering to both Jews and Gentiles, it is amazing to read that the ministry of care was not absent from his vocation as a preacher of the gospel. It is also interesting to note that the lives of the early apostles of Jesus Christ were not only in alignment with the teachings of Jesus Christ but were also in alignment with their own teachi...
