How to get new wine for the New Year!

Jesus need be invited into your life this 2014

John 2:1-3 KJV
(1) And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
(2) And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
(3) And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

There are some pertinent lessons I want us to glean from the account of the first ever miracle of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Verse 2 says:
And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage…

This is very important! In your relationship and or marriage, don’t just call your ‘disciples’ but make sure you call Jesus as well!

When the chips are down, the disciples cannot do anything about the wine that is beginning to wane; only Jesus will!
Note that we are not talking about wedding here, but marriage! Wedding is a one day affair, but marriage is for the lifetime.

In 2014, for your relationship and or marriage to work, you’ve got to have Jesus in the party, so that when the party is about to get into embarrassment mode, Jesus will bail you out!

Thank God for ‘disciples!’ Thank God for your friends and well-wishers. But they can only sympathize with you and have some pity-party, there is only one person that can turn your water into wine and His name is Jesus.

A conscious and deliberate relationship with His person is all you need in 2014! He will be there for you and will save you from shame!

Along the line in marriage, there will be those times when the wine is done with, or has been dissipated, when the taste is lost and the sweetness seemed gone! There will be those times when sweet becomes sour in marriage. What do you do at such times?

One needs wine at such times or else one will come up playing the card of ‘irreconcilable differences!’

In the above scenario, the wine suddenly finished! People invited to the party finished the wine! Pressures from people around us can often drain us and leave us empty at the end of the day, causing the wine of relationship or marriage to simply ‘finish.’

At such times, the only thing that will save you is if Jesus was invited to the marriage!

That is how to make your relationship or marriage work in 2014! He has to be called to the marriage! And that is something you do consciously and deliberately! - Pastor

Let Thy Pain Drive Thee

N ecessity, they say, is the mother of invention. Something becomes a necessity when its presence is required; its absence might also cause a little amount of pain. So, when people begin to find alternatives to reducing these pain, invention sprung up. So, I say, “let thy pain direct thee”. Life has never been a bed of roses and it will never be as long as humanity exist. Therefore, we all should expect pain in different levels. Sometimes the pain might be more. Other times, it might be less. But the fact remains that we will all experience pain in different aspect of our lives. But more importantly is the ability to learn from every pain we suffer or endure. Over the years, I realized that every good thing is wrapped in the arms of pain. Therefore, to claim a good thing, one has to overpower pain to achieve this goodness. Globally, economic and financial reports over decades have shown that inflation, depreciation and losses are consistent with human lives. In fact, the so c...

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL- WHY THE WORLD RACES-04/04/2014

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL- WHY THE WORLD RACES-04/04/2014 Yesterday’s message was titled “ DESIRING LONGEVITY & PROSPERITY?  ”. Today’s message is titled “ WHY THE WORLD RACES ” as provided by Pastor E. A. Adeboye in Open Heavens Devotional (Adeboye, 2014). In today’s message, we have been asked to memorise   Luke 21:17:   " And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake."   and read   Luke 6:22-23 . The Bible in one year for today has been taken from   Ezekiel 42:1 to Ezekiel44:14 and Psalm 76 .(Adeboye, 2014). Quoted below is today’s message for our usual discussion "The Psalmist in Psalm 69:8 wrote:  ”I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children.” Why this sorry situation? He gives the reason in Psalm 69:9:  "For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.” This is equally the lamentation of those who would liv...
