THE MYSTERY BEHIND BARABBAS FREEDOM AND JESUS’ SACRIFICE

Barabbas was a notable prisoner in the city. He had committed so much atrocities including rebellion that it has been programmed that he died in the prison. Jesus was God in human form and performed so many miracles, healed the sick, delivered the oppressed, taught the truth, showed the way and promised abundant and eternal life to anyone who believes in His name. At the point of Jesus’ death, there was an abnormal comparison. The Jews were given an option; to allow the release of Barabbas (that notable prisoner) or to exonerate Jesus (the life-giver). But the people cried louder and louder, give us Barabbas. Ironically, the Jews preferred the notable prisoner and murderer, Barabbas to Jesus! Do not be amazed as such decision, this same decision and attitude still persist in our generation even right now as you read this tract, so many people have preferred evil to good. You see people celebrating sin with no remorse. They see the born again Christians as fools living...

YOU HAVE AN INHERITANCE

Inheritance from the dictionary means something from the past that is still valuable and is passed from someone (ancestors) when that person dies to his offspring. For example, a first son inherits his dead father’s lands and properties. The Almighty God himself takes inheritance so seriously that He decided to take Israel as his portion and His inheritance (Deut. 32:9). If I may ask, what is your inheritance? Some of us inherited several things from our fathers: lands, cars, houses, estates etc. while others inherited nothing from their parents. This is your physical inheritance but do you know that the most important things in this life are unseen. My friend, even if you inherit lands, houses, estates etc from your family, there are some sicknesses and troubles that can take your whole wealth away. This means those inheritances are temporal. Some inheritance can be disastrous like ancestral curses, yokes, family sicknesses etc. The inheritance you got from your family ha...

10 AWESOME TRAITS OF A GODLY WOMAN

Prov 31:30 : Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD , she shall be praised. Are you a godly woman? Do you have a godly woman in your life? A godly woman isn’t perfect, rather she’s learning to open up, to fear  and trust in her Savior. The measuring stick of your godliness isn’t based on a comparison to other women but on your personal commitment to Jesus Christ. As you continue to grow spiritually, you will: ·      Demonstr ate an intimate familiarity with God’s Word “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4) You reveal the godly woman in you when your thoughts, words, and advice are based on the Bible and not your opinion. You’re not throwing out scriptures to show how knowledgeable and spiritual you are, but rather your key instinct is balancing faith and actions on the word of God. ·      Propagate a calm and quietness of spirit...

Celebrating Valentine?

The origin of Valentine is attributed to different myths and ;legends. We can not say which is true or false. Let’s see what this myth says; The Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred. One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine’s actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death. There are other myths as well but I ain’t interested with the myth but with what happens during valentine celebration. From past experiences, we have discovered that Valentine gives an opportunity for us to express our love and ignite our love through different gifts and actions...

WHY AM I HERE?

A   broom  might say, "I’m a brush with a long handle used for sweeping up floors! Yes, I’m a tool used by people to help keep things clean and tidy. I know why I’m here!" A   refrigerator  might say, "I’m an electrical appliance that keeps things cool. Food stored in me will tend to stay fresh and will not spoil so fast. I know why I’m here!" A telephone might say, “I’m an electronic device that aids communication. People use me to pass information no matter the distance. I know why I’m here!” Why am I here? Sometimes as I look around and observe the world I live in, life seems very meaningless. I see people dying. The average person only lives to be about 70 years old and even lesser in Nigeria. I see wars--people killing and being killed. I see sickness and sufferings. I see disasters (earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, floods, airplane and automobile crashes, etc.). I see people going through their daily routines: waking up, getting dresse...

THE WORDS THAT BROUGHT CHRISTMAS

THE WORDS THAT BROUGHT CHRISTMAS John: 1:1-4, 14: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. V14: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. We are celebrating this season as a result of God’s Word being made flesh in the likeness of men. The word is Jesus. As seen in the verses above, all things were made from this spoken Word. Oh how powerful the Word must be. What can you learn from this? We are made in the likeness of God himself. We have the same genes and traits from God our Father. Whatever God words can become our words will also become. But we do not know how powerful our words have been created to be. I sat down one day and  realized...

YOUR FEARS- FACE IT NOW

If you really want to do something you will always find a way. But if you don't want to do it, you will find excuses. The easiest way to combat fear is by not using excuses. Instead, you need to look for positive approaches to accomplish your goal. If you want to start a business, attend a meeting at the Better Business Bureau. Read some national magazines like "Income Opportunities" or "Spare Time." Start reading the business section of your newspaper. Gather some ideas and do a little reading before actually jumping into a business. Surely  you can find some spare time to read. Also, begin associating yourself with people who are in their own business already. If you're afraid to go out and make new friends, attend local business-related seminars in your community. Start watching television shows that are related to business. You'll eventually find people to associate with who know others and you'll be the part of a new crowd - the...
