OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL ;THE BLESSING OF THE LORD - 01/02/2014

In yesterday’s message, titled “WHERE ARE YOU?”, you will agree with me that God is using this forum to touch lives. Thank God for everyone that contributed and for all the prayers. I pray that God will continue prove Himself Mighty in our lives in Jesus Name Today’s topic is titled “THE BLESSING OF THE LORD” as given by Pastor E. A Adeboye in Open Heavens Devotional (Adeboye, 2014). In today’s message, we have been asked to memoriseProverbs 10:22“The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.” and read 1 Kings 17:8-16. Our Bible in one year for today has been taken from 1 John1-4 and Psalm 30 (Adeboye, 2014).

The message is quoted below for our usual discussion. God bless you as you make your contribution to this forum

“A human king sometime ago asked: what should be done for the one in whom I have delight (Esther 3:3)? At the end of the day, the fortune of that fellow in whom King Ahasuerus had delight was turned around. This fellow was Mordecai; his story is a confirmation of 1 Samuel 2:7. The King of kings has all the power and can turn any situation around no matter how seemingly hopeless it is. Time is not a limitation for Him, therefore He can do it within the shortest period, just as He did in the situation of Samaria (2 Kings 7:1-14). He will do much more for you in Jesus‘ Name. The Lord loves to demonstrate His glory by decorating his own people with blessings. Sometimes in order to make it outstanding, he allows the situation of his beloved to become “hopeless” before intervening; this was the case with Lazarus.

The Bible says that Jesus loved Lazarus, yet when it was reported to him that Lazarus was sick, one would expect that He would rush down immediately to heal him, and by so doing, demonstrate to the people how He really loved him. Instead, Jesus waited another three days, and did not get there until the case had completely gotten hopeless - the point where the dead body of his friend (Lazarus) had started decomposing. He did all this in a bid to show how great God is and to make the testimony thick. Do you love God, do you make him number one in your life and yet there is a challenge in your life that seems to have defied solution? Maybe it is even getting worse. I have good news for you: this season, the Lord will step into the situation and make you a star by the time He is through with you.
Note that, following his being raised from the dead, Lazarus of Bethany became an insignia of the greatness of God. He became a wonder. Of course, God would not do this for just anybody, it is for the one whom He loves. However the one He loves must be a lover of God himself.
”I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.” Proverbs 8:17

A lover of God would want to be in the presence of God first thing in the day. Jesus loved his Father when he was here, and so a great while before the day dawns, before  others were up he would visit with his Father (Mark 1:35). How often do you do this?”

The prayer point for today as given by Pastor E. A. Adeboye (Adeboye, 2014) is that God will bless you and even more than that, make you a blessing.

I pray for every reader of today’s devotional that as the Almighty God  raised Lazarus from the dead and made him an insignia of His greatness, He will give us an overflowing transformation that will announce His greatness to the whole world through us, Amen

Wishing you a happy new month. Happy overflow!!!

Valentine or Violent-Time (Part 3)

Over the years, some religious folks have defined and classified February 14 as the devil's day. They argue that the Valentine was not a Saint, and even if he was, it was not proper to keep a day to remember him. By God's grace, I have subjected myself to regular study of the scriptures and godly books in several libraries especially the e-libraries. My philosophy has been guided by the knowledge acquired from comparative and HOLYGHOST inspired study. If God is not against Christmas, and Easter, then why should He be against Valentine's Day? Many of us have known so much that we have created our own "Newer Testament" after the new testament of the Holy Bible. Is God against celebrations? Definitely, No! Jesus visited a wedding in Cana, he was at most Jewish feasts, and He organized a feast by feeding, on one occasion, 5,000 men. Our God loves feasting. He loves to see us celebrate. But all feastings must be done in Holiness in order to be approved ...

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL-BELATED OFFERING - 08/03/2013

Yesterday’s message was titled “ ARE YOU A FALSE WITNESS  ”. Today’s message is titled  “BELATED OFFERING?”  as provided by Pastor E. A. Adeboye in Open Heavens Devotional (Adeboye, 2014). In today’s message, we have been asked to memorise  Genesis 27:20: "And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me. " . Today's reading is from  Mark 16:1-6  and the Bible in one year reading for today has been taken from  Jeremiah 36:1:- Jeremiah 38:6 and Psalm 55:16-23 Quoted below is the message for today. God bless you richly for your contribution When Isaac asked Esau his son to go and prepare a delicious meal of venison for him to eat so that he (Isaac) may bless him, Isaac's wife Rebekah heard it and took advantage of the distance between their tents and the field where Esau the hunter would get the bush meat. She also took advantage of the short distanc...

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL-LOVE & SPIRITUAL GIFTS [Friday May 23, 2014]

LOVE & SPIRITUAL GIFTS [Friday May 23, 2014] Memorise: Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.   1 Corinthians 14:1 Bible in a Year: Genesis 48-50; Psalm 108 Read:   1 Corinthians 12:1-2 1  Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 2  Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. Message: Our God is the Almighty. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He is also good and His mercy endures forever. One character of God that is transmissible through us is love. How do we show that we know God? It is by showing His love ( 1 John 4:8 ). Let us love one another. Let’s demonstrate the love of God to our brethren. Let’s show them that we care. The people we are to show love to includes those that are lovable and those that do not deserve our love. Do you love your critics? Do you love your persecutors? Do you love the un...
