MISSED DESTINY

Once upon a time, there were a set of beautiful twins upon the face of the earth. The elder was a hunter while the other was a kitchen boy. As usual, the eldest went to the bush to hunt, one day he came back very hungry and couldn’t control his hunger. He asked the younger broad for a meal of porridge. The younger one gave him a condition to sell his birth right. The eldest son felt the birth right was just a mere word, it was just irrelevant after all they are twins. He agreed to his brother’s terms and conditions and sold his birthright for food. Now their father was about to die and has to place his blessings on the elder son. The father asked the elder to go get him some good meat so that he can be blessed. As the elder son ran out to get the meat, the younger son took the advantage and provided the meat for the father. And because the birth right has already been exchanged, the father has to obey destiny and natural law thus He lost his ability to recognize his sons. He gave the blessing to the younger one instead. When the elder one arrived and discovered what happened he became furious. (Gen 27:34)
This is a story from the bible about Esau and Jacob which we know. I am here to open your eyes to see how you have missed your destiny somehow and somewhere in your life.

Firstly, people miss their destiny because of lack of self control. How much self discipline do you have in your life? Do you let your body/flesh/feelings control you or you allow God’s spirit to control u. As many that are led by God are the sons of God. You must discipline yourself. Train your body to obey God’s laws for his commandments are not grievous. (Matt 11:29-30)

Secondly, have you used your mouth to sell your destiny? The elder brother felt he can say anything with his mouth after all the mother and father knows that he is the elder son. Some many people have this ‘I DON’T CARE‘attitudes. They don’t see anything as wrong. To them, ‘I say what makes me happy’. I say what I like. After all there is freedom of speech. Now I must tell you that he who guides his tongue guide his destiny. Proverbs: 29:20: Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words?  There is more hope for a fool than for him. It is not everybody that you tell your problems or future plans. It is not all friends that like you, some of them are unfriendly friends. Be careful. Hear more and speak less.
Again there was a little boy called Joseph who was sold by his brothers to slavery, because He shared his dreams with them. The master loved him and gave the whole of his belongings to Joseph to oversee and one day the master’s wife fell in love with this little boy and asked him to sleep with her. Joseph refused because he feared the Lord and didn’t want to betray his master’s trust. At the end he was thrown into the prison after the master’s wife framed him up. The same Joseph became the prime minister of the kingdom.(Gen 41:41-44)

Thirdly, some have missed their destiny because of lust of the flesh, sexual desires, bad companions (life partners, friends). So many girls have died as a result of sleeping with occultist, sugar-daddies, Aristos, contracted deadly diseases. So men have been bound by their girlfriends who they had promised to marry but never married. Whatever is the cause, Ask God to see you through, don’t let sexual urge destroy your destiny. As a young boy or girl, flee from fornication, some had had unwanted pregnancy, series of abortions which destroyed their lives/destinies. Run from pre-marital sex. Imagine if Joseph had slept with the master’s wife, I am so sure he wouldn't have become the prime minister of the kingdom. Also Elisha’s servant, Gehazi missed his destiny because of lust of the flesh, money and worldly pleasures and became a leper instead of a priest.(2kings 5;23-27)

Furthermore, some youth have missed their destiny because they lack the fear of God. The bible says that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. It is God who created you and has the power to rule and fulfil your destiny. If you lack the fear of God, the devil would have all liberty to rule over your destiny.
For you to have a fulfilled destiny, you must surrender fully to Christ. Jesus is the only way. John 14:6. Only Christ can assure you of a fulfilled destiny. Read the scriptures daily, in it lies the keys to successful destiny. Matt 6:33, Joshua 1:8. It is in God’s word you find wisdom and power to fulfil your destiny and overcome destiny destroyer-SIN. And you must worship in a living church. Don’t miss your destiny, God created you for a purpose. You are not created to be a looser, neither a failure. Poverty is never in God’s agenda for you (Jer 29; 11). Hand over your life to God now and be assured of a fruitful destiny. Prov 4:18. Jesus wants the best for you.

You can say this prayer with your mouth.
Father Lord, I come to you today as a sinner, I believe Jesus died for my sins and that you raised him up on the third day, forgive my sins. I accept Jesus as my personal Lord and saviour. Thank you Lord for forgiving me. In Jesus’ name.
Congratulations, you are now a child of God. Your destiny shall never be missed in Jesus name.

ARE YOU A CARROT, EGG OR COFFEE BEAN?

A young woman told her mother how hard her life was. She didn't know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed that as she solved a problem, another one arose. Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water. In the first pot, she placed carrots. In the second pot, she placed eggs. In the last pot, she put coffee beans. She let them sit and boil without saying a word.  After about 20 minutes, she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out, and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out, and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and place it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter she asked '' What do you see? ''.'' Carrots, eggs and coffee '' the daughter replied. The mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrot...

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL-SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS - 21/03/2014

SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS - 21/03/2014 Yesterday’s message was titled “ THE WAY OF ESCAPE   ”. Today’s message is titled “ SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS ” as provided by Pastor E. A. Adeboye in Open Heavens Devotional (Adeboye, 2014). In today’s message, we have been asked to memorise  2Timothy 4:2:   "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all Iongsuffering and doctrine. and read   Luke 8:38-40.     The Bible in one year for today has been taken from   Ezekiel 16-12 and Psalms 67:1 -68:6   (Adeboye, 2014). The message is quoted below. God bless you for your contribution "There is one great sin of omission that contemporary followers of Jesus Christ are guilty of. We enjoy God's grace, forgiveness, healing, breakthrough, P9309 and joy but fail to share the good news with others so that they may become beneficiaries of the benevolence of the Almighty God. We tend to take interest in staying in our beautif...

Parenting is the best opportunity to influence the world: How prepared are you?

O ne of the most amazing things I learnt this 2017 and is still learning is “Parenting”. I was privileged to see several things this year: the good, the bad, the beautiful and the ugly. I realized that parenting plays a major role in the outcome of our society. I realized that children who later become adults got most of their traits and genes (genotype and phenotype) from their parents: Intelligent parents most times (not 100%) breeds intelligent kids and dull parents hardly breeds intelligent kids (except in rare occasions) First, let us see how important parenting is - to the child and the world! Wikipedia defines parenting as “the process of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood.” However, most people think parenting is just about giving birth. So I ask, how prepared are you? The biggest and hardest task in life is parenting. Do you know why? If you focus on being successful an...
